Welcome to the official development blog for Sword of Legends! If you are here, then there's a good chance that you're already familiar with Sword of Legends. But for those of you who don't know, Sword of Legends is a retro-themed, action-RPG platform game with emphasis on hack & slash gameplay and exploration. While SoL doesn't attempt to break any new ground in gaming, it hopes to recreate a traditional experience that is reminiscent of classic games of the NES and SNES eras.

The game follows the story of a young boy named Adon, who receives the call to adventure when the legendary sword of his father is stolen from his home village. Adon's journey takes him through fields, into deep caves, and eventually to sea, where he will discover new lands of desert, arctic, and various other themes. Magical treasures like the Diving Helmet allow him to explore underwater, while the fabled Icarus Shoes let him fly high into the sky. Sword of Legends is an adventure of epic proportions, presented in a cute retro package.

Sword of Legends is being developed by our team of three, which has been dubbed The Brothers Gemini (two of us are Geminis, so that makes five altogether ;)) The project started in 2006 with Troy Thompson (Deadheat). Paul Hubans (Phubans) and more recently we've included David Newton as the game's composer. Paul is the Designer/Artist for the game, Troy does the programming, and David makes the music. All three of us will be posting to this blog with our updates on the game's development.

We are really looking forward to building a fan-base for this game and hearing feedback and encouragement from the public!
